A Letter From the Director

Hello BV Band and Color Guard families,

I want to introduce myself. My name is Denna Cobabe. I am your new Band director. I have a senior and a sophomore in the program. I have been around the band for 4 years.

My love for music started as a young kid. My mom played both the organ and piano from the time I was little. She still plays the piano. My favorite memories growing up are gathering around the piano while my mom played music. To this day we always gather at her house for Christmas eve and sing Christmas carols for hours.

I started playing piano when I was 7. In the 4th grade I took up the clarinet. In the middle of seventh grade I started playing the Bass Clarinet. I played the bass clarinet all through out high school and into college. Yes I marched with the Bass clarinet. I was in the Marching Band at San Juan High School for four years. As a sophomore I became the Drum Major. I was the Drum Major for three years. I then went onto to play music in college. I played for three years at ARC. While at the same time playing in Sac State Marching Band.

I have four childrenages 17, 15, 12, and 7 all of whom are into music. I have been Married for 19 years.

I am excited to see where we will go this year. I look forward to moving forward and seeing all the progress we will make together as the Bella Vista band and color guard.
Thanks for your support. Let's have a great year and keep the music alive!!!!
Sincerely,

Denna Cobabe
